Hello all,
I have stumbled onto this site, and thought it was a most interesting place.
Although born in Swinton, Lancashire, my parents decided that emigrating to the United States was a good thing. I was not old enough to disagree, so my older brother and I went along for the voyage.
My father, having grown up exploring Chat Moss and the River Irwell in Lancashire, felt that his children (eventually numbering six, total) should also be exposed to the wonders of nature, even though I never really experienced a wetland until I was an adult. Consequently, we spent many hours hiking in various spots in California, including Yosemite and King's Canyon, the San Bernadino Mountains, The Pinnacles, etc.
I now live in the state of Washington (not to be confused with Washington, DC!) with my husband, three cats, and three snakes. I've continued my wildlife viewing ways, and have explored most of the state of Washington for viewing opportunities.
I re-visit England as often as my finances allow, so generally every three years. I always try to spot as much wildlife as I can, and I really enjoy birding.
