Can you put both foods out?

Could try, I suppose.. but I live in a 1st floor flat... so don`t want to annoy the neighbours by attracting too many visitors (you know how some people like to complain about just about anything!!!).

Certainly familiar with that one Joey..my last neighbours complained about everything including my cuckoo clock being too loud...
Now i see your dilemma though..its a shame there isnt a feeder that could compartmentalise(?) the foods so you could have a couple of types in one.

Have noticed a lack of lots like there were and starlings too but tits, magpies, wood pigeons and collared doves a plenty and occasionally the jay. I live near a greenspace with lots of hedging and trees so they are around hopefully, just not fussed about the food I supply. I did get mealworns as a treat and they're all gone .

Hi Tass
That`s a good idea - will have a look around at pet/garden centres!
Thanks

Hi Tass
Have got a small one on the window already - but could probably have room for one of those too!!!
Thanks

Just been watcing the birds.. how do they see through the fog?

Sparrows still missing, so today have purchased a different kind of window feeder and put mealworms, suet and dried fruit in the new one alongside the other, which has mixed seeds - both being reasonably discreet - I hope the robins and blue tits will like it... the woodpidgeons can hoover up any overspills!!!

Our sparrows are fine at the moment, we seem to have just as many as usual.
26-02-2010, 05:04 PM
Sparrows about here but not as many and are getting bullied by the starlings who even fight each other for the same feeder when there are 8 to choose from with four different foods.

Sparrows are still making appearances along with blue tit, coal tit, robin, blackbird, thrush, wood pidgeon and starling BUT several other regular species all the finches (inc chaffinch) and wren have been nowhere to be seen!

Two sparrows returned today - both looking a bit ragged!
