attachment=1341]During a recent walk (well cycle actually) we came across this
on the beach, camber e sussex,
One way of collecting trash and getting the point over i suppose
As usual theres the same old stuff fishermens gloves bits of nets,

why o why do they do this

Then theres the plastic bottles and bags, when will people learn

I know that discarding trash people is not a new
thing, but its about time people changed, it makes me sooo angry.
Me and my partner do cleanup on our stretch of river at our own expense, and time, we have removed over 8000 litres of trash this year, and that includes taking it away by boat,
I wish for a more rubbish awarness in people in the coming new year
Nice one (the cleaning bit) and an interesting sculpture there!
Well, I guess we've all the plastic and nylon instead of the spilled oil that we used to get - and at least it's not so messy (but arguably it does damage the wildlife if not as much at least significantly). I'll drink to a cleaner litter free environment!

True about the oil, plastic degredation in the oceans is a bit of a ticking time bomb though,
an unseen disaster in the farthest regions of our oceans.
There was a prog on radio4,Home Planet,i think, and someone asked if there are any creatures in the seas
that consume this plastic plankton purposley, and apparently there is no evidence of anything that
does that, most do it unwareingly and that is not good ,BISPHENOL A,anyone interested google it.
I know what you mean captain nodge,i`ve seen so much crap in my local river and it makes me so angry everytime i see it, i can up with the idea of when i`m older, like in my late 20s early 30s of getting a boat and just cleaning it up.As this council is well $***.
Forgot to say thanks and keep up with the great work, it`s good to hear about people like you and your partner.
Hadn't known about Bisphenol A - looks as if it'll hit us as hard as potentially anything consuming plastic

Its allways a inspiration when we get feedback, i did google rivertrash early on this year after id put that name on our two boats(which we also rescued out of the river after floods, both the same as well well cool) and there is a group in america
called Solv in Oregon and they run a scheme called adopt a river, they organize a bunch of pepes and clean up as much trash as poss,
So maybe Carl you could do something like that where you are,? maybe organize something we find it a very positive
thing to do,we i try and time it here with the height of the tides, the wind plays a big part too, as it moves the trash around, Have a good new year all

attachment=1342]These are the two boats we use, like i said earlier both these came half floating down the river during the high tides and floods we had early on in the year,
The one with the outboard on i donated to my other half so she could ave another boat garden, which she did for about 3 months, but then the inflatable we used for hauling the dumb boat (the one with all the trash on) started to show bad signs of wear n tear, so i had to claim it back off her; after patching river trash 2 up and painting them the team orange (free off a local boater, really diff to find orange paint
off the shelf) it was put into action,
Its a lot better to haul the dumb boat by strapping it beam on(tieing
on the side rather than pulling from behind,
The outboard donated by a very good friend is a tohatsu 4hp
4stroke (just straight petrol no messy oil mixing) its really economical
and copes just about with a ebbing tide flow,
It can be good fun most times esp in the summer, theres a couple of
fishing boats that take the p**** and try to sink us, tw******
there normaly the ones who throw their crap in the river, those latex
gloves, how ignorant can one get, i mean it there livleyhood 4 a start.
Found a typical example of what happens to our trash,

Its a young albatross, that has died and apart from just its skeleton
and feathers all that is left is the contents of it stomach,
a disposable lighter, bottle tops and a myriad of plastic crap, if there is any such thing as karma then i hope whoever dropped this shit
dies in the same horrible way,
tried to post photo on here but file was to large,
probly just as well;!

Sound horrible, and i know how you feel, people think just cause it`s an animal it doesn`t matter.
You uploaded it to the gallery or a photo sharing site? if so have you resized it?
No didnt upload to gallery, file size to large and dont know how to compress pics.
Found a uk based site, really interesting as far as cleaning up concerned ect all
sorts of how to get involved stuff.

To rectify pics that are too large - if you have a photo editing program, then use the resize feature to change your image to 72 ppi and 800 pixels on the longest size. There are many such programs available, some of them free to download. If you're using a digital camera, then surely you must have some way of editing the pics, if not, then using digital is pointless!
Use:
http://www.vso-software.fr/products/imag...esizer.php
I use it from time to time when i have a pic that is to big.It is free not trial.
And i tried that link and to my surprise(sarcasm) there is nothing in oxford.Irony i suppose lol we love ****$ in oxford, lol
Thanks for the photo resizing link carl, il check it out asap,
