I couldn't believe my eyes earlier today! I looked up and sitting on the window-sill was a grey squirrel peering in at me! It looked at me for a couple of seconds and then jumped off onto the fence, in no great hurry!

It must have been looking for a way to get onto our bird feeder that is hung from our roof, but couldn't. The bird feeder has been up for some time but I've never seen the squirrel before. I was so shocked I didn't have time to take a picture, but if it comes back I'll be ready next time!
They are very cheeky those squirrels! Have a look at tibbars thread with the lazing squirrel if you haven't already.
If it has found a potential source of food, it will definitely be back Icon_smile And don't be surprised if it's carrying a ladder with it Icon_biggrin
I like the comment about the ladder, that seems about right. At the moment we have babies getting in through the rabbit run weldmesh. How I love waiting for the end of summer when they are much fatter to their surprise!!!!!!!!
Hope you get a pic squirreler
As others have said, it will definitely be back, perhaps with some friends next time! Icon_smile

You have done well to put it in a place where no squirrels have managed to get to it already. Even if they can't get into the feeder I'm sure you will have another photo oppurtunity when it comes back for another try.
And they WILL try!

Kingfisher
As you all said it would, the squirrel returned yesterday onto a different feeder that he could get to. I stood at the back door for a while looking at him and he stared right back at me! I opened the door and shooed him away, and he shot off up the fence. Its only a matter of time before he returns though!
