Can anyone recommend any good areas spotting Kingfishers in the Beds, Herts, Cambs, Norfolk areas?

I've tried a few places including Paxton Pits in St.Neots, and Kew, but to no avail. They just arn't around when I turn up for the day.

If anyone knows of a place where you could be certain to spot Kingfishers please tell.
Welcome to the boards!

From my visits to Norfolk its such a good birding place that I'm sure there are many inland reserves where you would be quite likely to see a kingfisher, its just a question of being in the right place at the right time. I'm not sure about the other counties though.

As Xeract said, you can go to the right place and still not see one, its partly a matter of luck. Just keep trying and you will get one.

Okay, thanks guys.
Would your local RSPB have any recent sighting information?
