Here is a moth that was in our house & then we found one later in the car but I don't know what sort it is. It had a flash of orange underneath. Can anyone help?

Sorry, got no idea (can't find it in my book at any rate) but it's rather lovely! Icon_biggrin
It's one of the Yellow Underwings (Noctua sp.), possibly Lesser.
BTW, where abouts are you, because they vary with locality.
We're in Lancashire. The closest Skippy could find was a 'Heart & Dart' but it wasn't identical.
Like you say there are regional variations. I have seen three in two days.
