Mine are Dunnocks - I've counted up to 20 queued up on the fence waiting to get at the bird feeder.

Recently with the crow invasion in our road they are definitely my most commonly sighted birds!

Still in with the Goldfinches, although we did have loads of B42's (collared doves ) last year until the Harris got peckish.

I like that description of doves
I've been seeing a lot of starlings recently

I haven't seen many starlings this year in our garden.
The crows seem to have been replaced by a smaller number of magpies in our road, so I think my most commonly seen bid is now the house sparrow.

Pigeons! But I'm pretty sure they're homers, next to them I'd say Blackbirds atm! It's my own fault as I throw out handfulls of raisins for them and now they seem to be telling all their mates lol! :
They're getting so cheeky now that they'll sit in the guttering by the kitchen window and 'woop' at me to get my attention as if to say "erm.. excuse me, we've run out of raisins now!" I've even got a couple of fledglings coming now as well. They even sit on the widow sills or wheelie bin 'peering' into the dining room to get my attention - so funny!
See what I mean?!?

Erm... I'm waiting!

The photo of the bird on our window is great, I've never had any bird come that close no matter how often I feed them.

Yeah, I had to laugh as I was on the PC at the time and just looked over and there he was 'peering' at me - cheeky boy!
Well, when you next see a blackbird in your garden chuck him a few raisins or currants - I promise you he'll be back for more pretty soon!
It all started when we moved in and I was digging up the garden and trying to get it sorted out. Whilst digging a border a male blackbird landed right next to me and started poking about for insects and worms that I'd disturbed (it's usually robins right?!?). I was stunned, and froze to the spot, but then when I carried on digging he just kept following lol! When I next saw him a day or two later I put out some raisins and the rest is history.
Last count the other day was 5 males and 2 females. It's obviously difficult to tell males apart but there is one that is decidedly scruffy and the most bold of them all
At least 2 of them are still feeding broods as they're having a couple of raisins for themselves then gathering up another 5 or so and flying off to the neighbours gardens.
I've got a short vid of them coming in the back porch - can I post a vid?

Caz, that's a good question about the video. I would imagine certainly a link to something like a YouTube video would work.
Xeract can answer your question better than I can, however.

Definitely blackbirds, they seem to be there whatever the season!
Although when its nesting time there's all sorts- robin, blue tits, magpies.
Some birds don't migrate do they? I was wondering if anyone knew which common British ones did and didn't.

My vid is currently on my photobucket account - perhaps I should try and 'paste' it in and see what happens?
