there are squirrel proof feeders that you can get. i got nothing against them, tbh i wish i had a squrrel in my garden

They are certainly amongst the most single-minded, determined, agile and ingenious critters when it comes to stealing food. Lots of people hate them but after one incident I've grown to love them:
One day, one of the local cats decided to wait in ambush for a squirrel that regularly visited the garden. It hid behind a low wall between the squirrel and the food it was after, but not being too smart, it allowed itself to be seen by the target. As I watched, I got the distinct impression that the squirrel was working out the solution to this problem. Eventually, it inched closer to the cat's hiding place. The cat pounced, but the squirrel was ready for it and took off up the garden just fast enough to keep the cat interested. Up into the trees it went, followed by the cat. The squirrel even slowed down, as though enticing the cat the follow it higher. Eventually, the cat stopped, realising that it couldn't get back down. I swear that the squirrel gave it a smug grin as it leap to another tree and calmly made its way down to the food that it had been after. Meanwhile, all the cat could do was look nervous and cry for help (after a couple of hours it eventually made it down).

That story made me smile! I don't particularly enjoy squirrels being in our garden but even they are better for the wildlife than roaming cats, so I'm glad your squirrel got the better of that one!

It does illustrate why people like squirrels! The introduced Eastern Grey squirrels are still pests, though.

Good squirrel story , it made us laugh. True they are a pest but I couldn't help feeling sorry for that one. I must be getting soft in my old age.

lol ok thx i could do with a squirrel. as long as it doesnt hurt my tortoises
