hi, sorry if this is in the wrong thread but im new to this forum Icon_smile , are there any reptiles like grass snakes in essex?
Hi Andrew welcome to the forum Icon_smile

There are native reptiles in Essex, the five I can think of that are native to the whole of England are the adder, grass snake, smooth snake, common lizard and slow-worm, but I might be missing one or two.

hi, thanks for the reply. Icon_cool

Have we got any pics Xeract to compare differences? I have never seen a slow worm.
I haven't got a picture of a slow worm myself but I found one on the net, notice the forked tongue.

I looks weird , kind of snake like but not! Thanks for that Bill
a slow worm s a lizard with no legs, not a snake lol
I have slow worms in my garden, when one next appears I will take a photo Icon_smile
Oh, that would be wonderful!
