I was driving along the M3 yesterday, and when I pulled off at my junction there was a large roundabout with traffic lights. As I sat at the ligts I saw a pheasant come out of the undergrowth and stand on the side of the road. Begging it not turn back around, as the lights went green it started to cross, and excruciatingly slowly began to waddle across the road.

Luckily for the pheasant me and several other drivers had watched the pheasant and all slowed down to allow it to cross, so this time it got lucky! I was amazed at its apparent calm, at no point to it even try to hurry!
Lucky this time, but if he/she keeps pulling stunts like that I'm sure it's lkuck will run out unfortunately! Pheasants are so stupid theat it probably didn't even realise it was in danger which is why it didn't hurry.
Either that, or if a cock pheasant, he could have had other things on his mind Icon_rolleyes .

Kingfisher
I've seen loads of phesants do things like that before. No wonder they're good targets for shooters, they haven't any sense of danger!
It's probably a mixture of both the above things! I've always thought it is a bit pointless going pheasant hunting, it does seem like they are incredibly easy to kill.
