I was watching the news earlier and they had a short clip of an osprey nest that is being filmed. The mother laid two eggs, but when her partner returned he knew they weren't his eggs. He gave her a fish to eat, and while she flew off to eat it kicked the eggs out of the nest so they would be destroyed.
I thought it was sad, but also amazing that the osprey seemed to have had the forward thinking to give the mother the fish so she would leave and he would be free to destroy the eggs. Luckily the mother has relaid with her partners eggs this time.
