Hi everyone!
I am writing on behalf of the Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (ACRES - http://www.acres.org.sg) to ask for your help in fighting the illegal wildlife trade. We are an Asian organization with base in Singapore fighting for animal causes.
The cruel and illegal wildlife trade is rampant and thriving in Asia. Typically, adult wild animals are slaughtered by poachers who then take the babies, pack them in horrific conditions, and ship them off on a harrowing journey to someone seeking an ‘exotic pet’.
But, as you are aware, the illegal wildlife trade has far greater consequences. The trade wrecks the delicate ecosystems of our forests, leading to the decay of vibrant wildlife and, ultimately, the extinction of many endangered species!
As part of our efforts to protect the Asian wildlife, we are building the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Center (AWRC) in Singapore with the following main objectives:
1. To serve as an education facility to promote awareness of conservation and the illegal wildlife trade. The center will welcome schools, government offices, private organizations and the general public.
2. To provide a safe-haven for rescued wildlife (and arrange for possible repatriation). Rescued wildlife, which would otherwise be euthanized due to lack of housing, will now have a second chance at life!
We have raised more than half of the required S$780,000 to build the center. But we need more help.
For information on our Wildlife Rescue Center, please visit http://www.acres.org.sg or http://www.acres.org.sg/wildlife_rescuecentre.html
Help us fight the illegal wildlife trade and save the lives of thousands of animals by donating bricks, trees or even whole animal enclosures through our website.
It's great to see people around the world interested in Wildlife! Thank you for your support!
Best regards,
Sen
