Hello - Recently I have noticed two male Chaffinch in my garden that appear to be really groggy or seemingly on the verge of sleep/death trying to feed on the ground but falling over and very weak. could anyone help identify what might be wrong with them ?

I am in the north cornwall area.

* Just wanted to add the one I have seen today the one in the picture has died.
I can't really see anything wrong with the bird becasuse the image is quite small. Can you enlarge it please? (if possible)
It could be the disease spread by a parasite, have a look here ....

Keith - thank you for the link, this seems very much like what it could be.
I Will be giving my feeders and water a good clean today as a precaution. Hopefully it is just an isolated case because there are loads of green and chaffinches around here.

I would think it is that disease. We have had quite a few cases on this website alone of similar happenings. Its a real shame.
