Live in Surrey, hence the username. I've been a keen wildlife type person from a young age, especially birds of prey and owls - off to an Owl experience tomorrow evening.
Now I have children myself, I am always looking for an excuse to get out for walks so they can discover and enjoy their nature. If I am not out walking I will be either watching films / documentaries about Alaskan and Canadian wildlife as I was lucky enough to visit when I was younger or sitting next to a peaceful body of water with a rod in hand.
Welcome to the forums!

I'm from Surrey myself, there are some fantastic hidden walking spots around. Where do you like to go?
Thanks for the welcome.

Seeing as we live near the W Sussex border and the Hants border, we have Blackdown nr Haslemere, Gibbet hill and The Punchbowl at Hindhead as 'commercial' venues along with Frensham ponds a bit further away but I prefer to just pick up a map, find somewhere to park along a quiet lane and go from there. We are lucky enough to go out sometimes and not see anybody else and as long as the kids are quiet there is always something to see.
Hello and welcome to the forum. How did your 'Owl experience' evening go?

Very good indeed, thank you for asking. As you can see from my avatar, we were able to handle some of the birds with the added bonus of 'flying' the barn owl. Possibly the best bit was seeing a pair of Bald Eagles, albeit caged, which was unexpected and I could share the experience with my wife, who usually groans when I say I have seen them in their natural habitat, but she can now appreciate the awe.
