Just wanted to recommend a book I've recently bought:

"Britains best wildlife, The top 40 sights to see" by Mike Dilger (foreword by Chris Packham)

In a nutshell it's Mike Dilger's top 40 list of britains wildlife. although you wont agree with the placings of a few entries, it spreads that 'bug' of making and checking off a list of things to see. It's very informative, in that each entry tells you when and where is the best to see them, as well as some lovely photos.
well worth a read. heres a link, see what you think:

Sounds good! Lists are always a great way to motivate yourself to do more than you usually would, so I think I would find this useful.
I don't know about anyone else but I love lists. They make me so more productive. Ive never thought about using them for watching wildlife though, so thanks for pointing this book out.
no worries riana, and i agree. they have a power over you dont they? there's plenty of animals/insects i want to see, and i am always on the look-out. but if someone gave you a list of say, britains bumble-bee species, you'll wont be happy until you've ticked off every last one!
hello outdoorman
