[attachment=566]Whilst staying in our campervan for two nights at Minnis Bay, East Kent, we were attacked by a swarm of hornets at exactly the same time both evenings. This occured at sunset, 9.30pm, end of June 2008, and the attacks lasted about half an hour. The hornets' bodies were about an inch long and they were much fatter than wasps. They didn't seem to be interested in any other vehicles, just our dark blue one. We had foodstuffs on board including jam & honey in closed jars. As their behaviour seemed so predictable, we didn't stay a third night! The only photo shows a mating(?) pair- the only ones that were still for long enough! Can anyone shed light on this, or has anyone had a similarly repetitive experience? Please email me... acadge@tiscali.co.uk
