A friend recently visited the British Wildlife Centre near Crawley, and got some brilliant photos which he's kindly allowed me to post here. I've never been, but it sounds like a good day out! They have species from all over the UK, and have special photographer days where you can book in advance and share the centre with just a few other photographers.

If you look carefully at the heron shot, you can see its just caught an unfortunate frog!

Looks like a great place for a day out.
Great pictures! Have to feel sorry for the frog though Icon_biggrin
BWC is a fantastic place for a day out Icon_smile have been about half a dozen times so far Icon_smile Not been this year yet though !

One of mine from a couple of years ago Icon_smile
That picture of the heron is brilliant, and I like the one of the wild cat a lot too.
I'd reckon half a day unless you are on a photography special. The wetlands just at the edge of the BWC are good (I saw a heron there too), but the main area is quite small. A nice trip and you can get some great photos. Here are some of mine from last year.
Great photos from both of you! Really looks like it would be good fun to go there one day.
Words, I love those photos, thanks for sharing!
