This is a monthy photo competition, with each month having a set category. During the final week of the month, a voting thread will be put up so you can vote for your favourite images.
Unfortunately the winner will not recieve any prizes, because it is just a bit of fun.

The winner will be mentioned and congratulated by Xeract on the homepage. On your thread, can you please give a name for your image, and if possible, include photogrpahy information, such as ISO, shutter speed etc. A new thread will be created for each month, so please be sure to enter in the right one!

If you have any further questions, then please contact me by personal message, and we will try our best to answer your question.

I obviously did something wrong so will just upload the thumbnail - sorry.

Two brilliant entries already! I would also love to enter but thought this was a rather difficult shot to get. I was wondering whether the competetors who have already entered were lucky enough to be out and about with a camera for their sunset/rise photos or whether they timed it? So any tips on getting shots at the right time?

Hi Sunshine. Afraid there was nothing 'planned' in my shot. We get some fantastic sunsets where I live. I just happened to look out of my back window and thought the sky looked great so took my trusty Canon Digital IXUS 60, aimed and took the picture! Have a go and good luck!Icon_rolleyes

Wow, great photos! Ausjen, if you put [*img] and [*/img] around the URL, it will post the image (leave out the stars though)

Thanks Bill - I'll try that next time.

Mine wasn't really planned either, although by living next to the sea in the west you do get more of a chance of getting good sunsets.
Ok thanks guys, I'll give it a whirl and start carrying my camera round with me at all times. Im sure living by the sea does make the oppurtunity easier though, I cant see over any of the rooftops in my estate!

Hi Jamie
Welcome back - hope you had a great holiday! What part of Cyprus did you go to - I was there in May and stopped near Limassol - everyone was so friendly.
