A trip to Longshaw NT property

On Sunday, my wife and I had a walk around the Longshaw area, calling at the cafe for lunch, then on to the site of the old Bole Hill quarry, where stone was extracted for the Howden and Derwent dams (more of this in a future post). While at the cafe, we watched redpolls and siskins visiting the feeders just outside, tolerating the many visitors walking past. The light was rubbish, so we determing to return, and did so today.

I was just about to give up today, as the snow fell and the light stayed dull, but then the clouds broke and the sun came out for brief periods, so spent a happy hour or so snapping away. Here are some of the pics:
